2025 Solway Targa Rally

Run in tandem with and following the same route as the Historic Rally this Wigton Motor Club event provided competitors with 16 Tests all of which ran in torrential rain. Victory went to David Mosey & Louise Richardson in their Vauxhall Corsa. Multiple images of all cars available on request.

Top honours on this Spadeadam Motor Club event went to Ali & Lynsey Proctor in their Toyota MR2 with Chris Dodds/Peter Gibson (Proton Satria) finishing as runners-up. Following the same two-day schedules as the Classic Rally it was the Proton Satria GTI of Michael & Josh Davison that took top spot in the Targa standings. Darrell & Nicky Staniforth brought their Toyota Corolla Levin to victory following two days of tough competition in the Scottish Borders. The Berwick & District Motor Club event comprised of a mix of tests and regularities with Saturday’s leg taking contestants north of the border into Scotland with Sunday’s schedule remaining in England. Noel Cochrane & Oly McCollum won this Wigton Motor Club event in their Ford Escort Mk1 after narrowly beating the Vauxhall Nova of Geoff Hall and Paul Bosdet by just four penalty points. Based at the Cumbria Kart Racing Club Circuit at Rowrah and a round of the NESCRO series the rally comprised of sixteen Tests spread over nine separate venues in the west of the county.

In a battle of the Peugeots it was the 206 of Barry Lindsay and Martyn Petry that claimed the victory spoils ahead of the 309 of Daniel & Stephen Place. The rally followed the same route as the Historic event and our gallery contains images of all nineteen competing crews.

2022 Blue Streak Targa & Historic Rally Challenge

The Blue Streak Targa and Historic Rally Challenge was won by Ali and Lynsey Procter who brought their Peugeot 205GTi home 59.6 seconds clear of the Sunbeam Rapier H120 of Andy Beaumont and Andrew Fish. The rally, organised by Spadeadam Motor Club, ran in blistering heat over 16 mixed surface tests to the north-east of Carlisle and east of Gretna Green. Thirty-four crews contested the event that was a counter to the North of England and Scottish Rally Organisers (NESCRO) Challenge. Victory in the Targa class went to Andy Graham and Kat Sutton in their Ford Fiesta ST.
